SARB to announce repo rate decision

JOHANNESBURG – The South African Reserve Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee will sit for its first meeting of the new year on Thursday.
It’s expected Reserve Bank will keep the repo rate unchanged.

The current repo rate is 8.25 percent and the prime lending rate is 11.75 percent.
We are now at a 14-year high after a total rise of 475 basis points.
